WUFI-S WinXP SP2

WLAN (being phased out) and Pooled class room network conections.

For pooled class room, you need to register your machines mac address [-here-]

For WLAN wireless, you need to start your browser 1st, and login.


WUFI-S for WinXP SP2

1) Get the supplicant from nts and install it. Reboot your computer.

  http://nts.wustl.edu/wireless/SecureW2_312.zip

2) Start - Control Panel - Network Connections - Right click your wireless card and select properties. The following window will appear.



3) Click Wireless Networks tab (or see 3a) - Click add if WUFI-S is not listed, otherwise, select and click properties. The WUFI-S Properties dialog box--pictured in step 4--appears.

3a) If it do NOT have a Wireless Networks tab click here.

4) Set the following specifications:

  • Network name (ssid) : WUFI-S
  • Network Authentication : open
  • Data encryption: WEP
  • check The key is provided for me automaticly

5) Click the Authentication tab within the Properties dialog box, and the following fields will appear.

6) Set these specifications:

  • check Enable IEEE 802.1x
  • EAP type: SecureW2



7) Click the Properites button within this window.

8) The SecureW2 Profile window (below) should appear.


9) Click on the configure button for default setting. The SecureW2: Default window--pictured in step 10--appears.

10) Under the Connection tab, set the following list of specifications:

  • Check Use Alternate Outer ID, and
  • Check Use Anonymous Outer ID.

11) Under the Certificates tab

  • Uncheck Verify Server Certificate.

12) Under the Authentication tab

  • Set the Authentication Method to PAP

13) Under the User account tab

  • Either check Prompt user for credentials, or
  • Enter your username and password (for siesta), and set the domain to cse

14) Click OK several times to back out.



You should be good to go!
